Victoria Smith is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer for the University of Auckland. She is the course coordinator for the "Nursing Practicum" courses for post - graduate nurses wanting to progress toward Nurse Practitioner status.
 

NURSING 714                         Nursing Practicum 1                                        2 points Available First Semester & Second Semester The articulation and demonstration of advanced nursing knowledge and skills within a specialist clinical area. Students work with an academic and clinical adviser to develop an individual learning contract. Students may build on this course in NURSING 728 Nursing Practicum II. Prerequisite:8 points completed from Master of  Nursing schedule equivalent to PG Cert (Adv Nsg).                                Assessment:            100% course work

NURSING 728                          Nursing Practicum 2                                          2points Available First Semester & Second Semester This course builds on the advanced practice skills developed in NURSING 714 Nursing Practicum I. The Nurse Practitioner competencies developed by the Nursing Council of New Zealand are used as a framework to guide the student toward advanced practice roles/Nurse Practitioner status. Students develop learning contracts and work with academic and practice advisors to develop the Nurse Practitioner role. Prerequisite:    NURSING 714                              Assessment:     100% course work

Victoria also lectures for tutorial groups for undergraduate medical, nursing, health science, pharmacy students in Population Health.
